Jewish Community Council of Gateshead: Yalla Lets Go

This project seeks to deliver tangible economic and social benefits to the Orthodox Jewish Community and across Gateshead. It aims to capture the interest of marginalised groups to become economically self-sufficient through enterprise, by starting and growing new businesses, whilst breaking down barriers and providing opportunities in the enterprise ecosystem. This will vastly improve the equity and accessibility of the services they have on offer through encouragement, education and support.

Achievements - 2024 to 2025

The project delivered tangible economic and social benefits to the Orthodox Jewish Community and across Gateshead through various initiatives encouraging enterprise start-up and growth, whilst breaking down barriers and providing opportunities in the enterprise ecosystem. Flaws were identified and interventions were applied as appropriate.

Looking forward

The Yalla project seeks to continue supporting businesses in the project whilst simultaneously bringing other businesses in. Building on the experience gained in phase one of the project, we will tailor part of our grants programme to make it competitive.
