To create a sustainable thriving green corridor building on the Community Renewal Fund investment in Gateshead Riverside Park through improvements to green spaces, facilities within the corridor, creating new opportunities for engagement and activity, creating community and visitor ownership, and new audience development.  The project will embrace nature, culture, arts and heritage to create sustained interest and activity.  

The project will:  

• support existing facilities and develop new  

• create/improve blue green spaces  

• create/improve cycle ways   

• creation of 3 full time fixed jobs and shorter term artist engagement roles  

• provide events and engagement activities to benefit local communities and visitors  

• increase the volunteering opportunities  

• develop projects to increase engagement and activity within the green corridor  

• increase footfall and use of the spaces, buildings and amenities  

• improve perceptions of the corridor
