North East Social Work Alliance

The North East Social Work Alliance (NESWA) is a teaching partnership created to support Social Work education by building on existing links between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and employers (Local Authorities) in the North East of England.

NESWA develops highly collaborative relationships with the education curriculum by being jointly developed, delivered and owned by partnership agencies.

The partnership has a strong emphasis on people with lived experiences and minority groups contributing to learning and developing social work careers.

Students within the partnership benefit from a curriculum that is rich in content and informed by theory to practice, as well as a range of placement opportunities including statutory opportunities and career opportunities.

Fully qualified social workers also gain access to a range of dynamic personal development opportunities and the potential to enhance and explore career pathways within the profession.
