Make your voice heard
Earlier this year, tenants, leaseholders and employees worked together with national tenant experts TPAS. The aim was to ensure that we put the resident voice at the forefront of housing services.
We are now working together to implement the recommendations in the TPAS report and we have drafted a new Resident Influence Strategy. This sets out what we are aiming to achieve, how we will go about it, and most importantly how we will demonstrate success.
What happens next?
We will be working with our new Resident Influence Panel to make sure we fulfil our commitment to design our services based on real customer experiences. Their first task will be to develop a new Resident Influence framework that will set out a wide range of ways that residents can engage with us and make their voice heard. This will include a review of our existing formal involvement groups.

Membership of TPAS
We are members of TPAS, England's leading tenant engagement experts. They promote and support tenant consultation and empowerment in social housing. We have worked closely with them to develop our new approach to resident influence.
All Gateshead Council tenants and leaseholders have free access to the members' area of the TPAS website. This includes information about training courses and free events, and a knowledge hub.
