Primary school admissions
Primary and Junior School National Offer Day - 19 April 2022
If you live in Gateshead and applied online for your child's school place, you will receive an email on Tuesday 19 April 2022 confirming which school your child has been offered.
All applicants that live in Gateshead will also receive a letter confirming their offer. Letters will be posted first class on Thursday 14 April 2022. We cannot guarantee what day you will receive your letter as this will depend on the postal service in your area and please bare in my mind that this is a bank holiday weekend.
How to accept the place offered
If you applied on a paper application form, you must complete and return the form attached to your letter by 29 April 2022 to confirm if you wish to accept this place.
If you applied online, you must log onto the parent portal to accept the place offered. You can do this by clicking on the link contained in the email that you will receive on 19 April 2022. You will need the email address and password you created when you first applied for your place.
Alternatively if you applied online, log in to Parent Portal from 19 April 2022 to accept your place.
If you have been refused a place at your chosen school(s)
If your child is refused a place at one or more of the schools you requested, your child will automatically be placed on the waiting list for these schools. We will contact you if a place becomes available for your child from the waiting list. The letter you receive will also explain what the next steps are and how you can appeal against the decision to refuse your child a place. Please await your letter for further information.
