School admissions update
As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and following government advice, unfortunately we are unable to continue to work on any school admissions processes at this time.
There will be no staff in the office to answer telephone enquiries therefore, should you have any queries, I would ask parents to contact us only by email at firstname.lastname@example.org and only if your query is urgent. Please be aware that due to having to work remotely we may be limited in the responses we can give.
We are currently waiting for government guidance on how to proceed, however the current situation is as follows:
Secondary school admissions - Year 7 intake for September 2020
No reallocation process was carried out on the 23 March 2020. This will resume once schools reopen.
Primary school admissions - Reception intake for September 2020
Primary National Offer Day will be going ahead as planned. Applicants will receive a letter on or around 16 April 2020 confirming which school their child has been offered. We will also try to send emails on the morning of 16 April 2020 to applicants that applied online. As school admissions staff are working remotely, we cannot confirm the emails will send successfully. If you do not receive an email, please wait for your letter through the post.
In year school transfers
As schools are closed for an indefinite period of time we will not be processing any in year transfer requests until further notice.
School admission appeals
In light of the exceptional circumstances surrounding Covid-19, we have made the decision to postpone all school admission appeal hearings until further notice.
Clearly this is an unprecedented situation and I would assure you that school admissions, in-year transfers and school appeals will be dealt with as soon as we are in a position to do so. Thank you for your understanding during this extremely difficult time.
