Sheltered accommodation
We have 36 sheltered schemes (1433 properties), helping older people to live independently. This housing is a mix of flats, bungalows, and one extra-care scheme.
All schemes benefit from communal lounges, where our sheltered scheme officers support a programme of activities to help tackle social isolation and encourage a sense of community.

Mosspool is in the outer west of Gateshead in Winlaton. There are bus links to Gateshead town centre and Blaydon bus station, which has a train station nearby.

Rectory Hall is in the west of Gateshead in Whickham. There are good bus links to the Metrocentre, Gateshead town centre, Newcastle and Blaydon bus station.

Rydal Crescent is in the outer west of Gateshead in Winlaton, close to Blaydon and Rowlands Gill. There are bus links to Gateshead and Blaydon bus station.

South Lea is in the outer west of Gateshead in Winlaton, neighbouring East Lea. It is close to Blaydon and Rowlands Gill.
