    Overview

    South Lea is situated in the outer west of Gateshead in Winlaton, neighbouring East Lea. It is close to Blaydon and Rowlands Gill. There are bus links to Gateshead town centre and Blaydon bus station, which is near a train station and the Metrocentre. Blaydon precinct has many shopping facilities and a large supermarket. In the area surrounding East Lea there are many nature walks, including the Derwent Walk Country Park.  

    South Lea consists of 30 one-bed bungalows, each containing Tunstall emergency care units with pull cords and pendants. These are technology solutions that can help you to manage many risks around the home, and alert caregivers in an emergency. There is a Sheltered Scheme Officer on site Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm, providing support and advice to residents.  

    There is a communal lounge, which runs an activity schedule where residents come together to relax and socialise.
