Birtley A Unit is situated in the south of Gateshead in Birtley. Birtley high street is a short distance away, with local amenities including shops, a library, and a large supermarket. These are technology solutions that can help you to manage many risks around the home, and alert caregivers in an emergency. The building has a fob entry system for security. There is a Scheme Officer, who is contactable Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm, providing support and advice to residents.  

Within the scheme there is a communal laundry room and a communal lounge that runs an activity schedule where residents come together to relax and socialise.
