Kateregina

Overview

Kateregina is situated in a lovely area of Birtley between Grove Park and Lord Lawson of Beamish Academy. Birtley high street is a ten-minute walk away, with amenities including shops, a large supermarket, and excellent bus transport links.  

This site is covered by our Mobile Sheltered Scheme Officer team who will split their time between Kateregina and another nearby site. They are available Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm, providing support and advice to tenants.  

Kateregina consists of 40 two-bed bungalows and two three-bed bungalows. Each bungalow has Tunstall emergency care units with pull cords and pendants. These are technology solutions that can help you to manage many risks around the home, and alert caregivers in an emergency. The bungalows have open-plan gardens to the front and parking is available within the scheme.  

There is a separate communal lounge on site, with a regular activity schedule where residents can come together to relax and socialise. The communal lounge also contains a TV and hi-fi and has a kitchen area for residents' use.
