Overview

Easington Avenue is situated in the south of Gateshead in Wrekenton. The high street, which has many shops, a large supermarket, and a pharmacy, is within walking distance.  

There is a medical centre and pharmacy close to Easington Avenue, and excellent bus transport links in this area to Gateshead centre and Newcastle.  

Easington Avenue is close to Springwell Village, where you can visit Bowes Railway or walk scenic routes, stopping at quaint pubs for food or refreshments while exploring.  

The scheme is covered by our Mobile Sheltered Scheme Officers, who are contactable Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm to provide support and advice to residents. 

Easington Avenue consists of 86 one-bed bungalows, each containing Tunstall emergency care units with pull cords and pendants. These are technology solutions that can help you to manage many risks around the home, and alert caregivers in an emergency. There is a separate large communal lounge with an activity schedule where tenants can come together to relax and socialise.
