West Acres

Overview

West Acres is situated in the west of Gateshead in Blaydon. There are good bus links to Gateshead town centre and Blaydon bus station, which has a train station nearby with links to Hexham and beyond. Close by is Blaydon precinct which has many shopping facilities and a large supermarket, doctors and dental surgery. Blaydon leisure and primary care centre is also a short journey away.  

West Acres consists of 38 one-bed bungalows and 11 two-bed bungalows, each containing Tunstall emergency care units with pull cords and pendants. These are technology solutions that can help you to manage many risks around the home, and alert caregivers in an emergency. The bungalows all have open-plan gardens and parking is available on site. There is a Sheltered Scheme Officer, who is contactable Monday to Friday between 8.30am and 4.30pm, providing support and advice to residents. 

On site there is a communal lounge for residents' use, which runs an activity schedule for residents to come together to socialise and relax.
