Aim: To raise awareness of the increased vulnerabilities and risks of harm for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Learning objectives

  • To increase awareness of Special Educational Needs/ Disabilities and the support available via Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), Special Educational Needs Support, and Children with Disabilities services
  • Preventative work that can be undertaken to safeguard wellbeing
  • Responding to concerns at an early stage, including effective multi-agency working

  • Intercollegiate Framework: Level 3 People identified in Groups 3 - 5
  • Bournemouth University Framework: People identified in Groups B1 - C
  • Frontline staff, volunteers and managers in any organisation which works with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families
