Maternity Mobile

In 1994 Celebratory Arts created a large, colourful hanging mobile for the reception area of the ante-natal clinic at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.  

The marine plywood mobile (4 metres in diameter) illustrates stages of pregnancy, birth and the role of the midwifery service.  

Based on designs by Alison Jones and an ante-natal group from Teams Family Centre, it forms part of Gateshead's programme of artwork in primary healthcare in surgeries, clinics and schools.
