Dynamic Support Register (DSR) and Care (Education) Treatment Review (CETR)

Dynamic Support Registers (DSRs)

A Dynamic Support Register (DSR) is:

  • a tool used in a local area to identify people at risk or who may become at risk of admission to a mental health hospital setting without specific and timely dynamic support
  • for adults, children and young people
  • each person is given a red, amber or green rating depending on risk -  or blue, a separate rating identifying those children, young people and adults currently in inpatient services
    • red is for people who are at high risk of going into hospital straight away
    • amber is for people who are at high risk of going into hospital if they do not get the right care and treatment soon
    • green is for people who are having their risks managed well at home
    • blue is for people who are already in hospital

The DSR is then used to make sure that the right checks are carried out by health and care teams.

Care (Education) Treatment Review (CETR)

A Care (Education) Treatment Review (CETR):

  • is a meeting to talk about people at risk of going into a mental health hospital and who are already in a mental health hospital
  • is for adults, children and young people
  • makes sure the person and their family are listened to
  • makes a plan to support people to get the treatment they need
  • reviews the red, amber or green rating each time a CETR takes place
  • is a record of CETR recommendations kept on the DSR record
