Riverside Routes: Staiths Art Club - Ceramic Pet Portraits with Alex Sickling
A monthly art club at Staiths Cafe! Each month you take part in a new activity from clay to punch needle, gelli plate printing to embroidery and much more! Adults only.
In June and July join Gateshead based artist Alex Sickling to create your own pet portraits out of clay in this special two-part session. Immortalise your fluffy (and non-fluffy!) pals in clay this special session. Alex will share their process to creating a portrait, showing you tips and tricks to then create your own. No experience necessary, creating of imaginary pets welcome!
After the first session on Wednesday 18 June, Alex will take away your work to fire ready for the second session where you will glaze your little pet, learn how to create texture and experiment with colour.
After the second session on Wednesday 9 July, Alex will fire the pieces for the final time which will then be ready for collection at Gateshead Central Library or another Staiths Art Club at a later date.
Adults only - please note, price is for two sessions, participants must be able to attend sessions on Wednesday 18 June and Wednesday 9 July.

Please note, ticket prices are low due to funding for Riverside Routes. Riverside Routes is part of the Tyne Derwent Way programme, funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Drinks and cakes can be purchased at the Cafe until 5:50pm.
