Benefits of working with the council
Gateshead Council is a long-established and reputable organisation. We encourage competition for bids and, while we are committed to supporting and encouraging local firms, our contracts are awarded fairly and non-discriminatorily for their value for money. Bids are welcomed from new and established suppliers alike.
Organisations working with us can expect professional support and prompt payment, with an early payment option. Our Supplier Incentive Programme (SIP) provides suppliers the opportunity to be paid earlier than contracted terms. This helps improve suppliers' cash flow, and reduces time spent chasing payments.
