Fixed play equipment

Many of our parks have play areas that contain fixed play equipment that is inspected regularly by our staff.

If you have noticed a problem with damaged or broken play equipment that may be dangerous, or damage to the floor around play equipment, you can report it to us using our online form. You'll need to tell us:

  • where it is
  • what equipment has been damaged
  • what damage there is

You can also upload photos of the problem.

Report a problem with fixed play equipment

If the repair requires the replacement of a standard item that we have in stock, we will carry out the repair at the earliest opportunity, depending upon staff availability and work schedules.

Repairs requiring a non-standard item will take longer as we will usually have to order the parts. In these cases we will complete the repairs as soon as operationally possible, once the new part/parts have been delivered. However this is dependent on the delivery time from our suppliers.

Repair work can also be dependent on weather conditions and may not be able to be carried out until conditions are suitable. For example, rubber safety surface repairs require a warmer temperature to allow the rubber to set.

When equipment is reported as dangerous, this will be treated as priority and we aim to inspect the equipment and ensure that it is safe to use as soon as operationally possible. Our normal working hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Any problems reported outside of these working hours will be picked up the next working day and addressed as soon as possible.

In some instances, equipment may be fenced off to prevent it from being used until we can carry out the repair.

Occasionally, an item of equipment will be so badly damaged that it will cost more to repair the item than it is reasonably worth. In this case the equipment will be removed.
