Tell us about a dangerous building or structure

Where it is possible and safe to do so, a building control surveyor will inspect the reported building or structure, within 24 hours. Where possible the owner and occupiers of the premises will be informed.

Depending on the outcome of the Building Surveyors inspection, we will decide what action is needed. This could range from further regular inspections to, in some cases, the emergency partial or full demolition.

If you have informed us we can also advise you of our likely action or opinion. We can order the owner(s) to 'make safe' or remove the danger. We can reclaim all our costs from the building's owner(s).
