Station East presents Summer Sounds on Baltic Square
Station East brings the soundtrack of the summer to Baltic Square with a trio of vibrant, curated music performance events that celebrate global sounds, community, and creativity.
Set against the backdrop of the iconic Gateshead riverside, these open-air events will offer relaxed vibes, quality live music, delicious food and drink, and a welcoming space for all.
Reggae - Saturday 26 July
The series kicks off with a laid-back reggae-themed event, bringing smooth basslines, soulful melodies, and sunshine energy to the square. Live performances from local artists will create a chilled, feel-good atmosphere perfect for a lazy summer afternoon. With food and refreshing drinks available, it's the ideal spot to soak up some rhythm and good company. The event wraps up on the square at 7pm, giving the crowd time to head up to Station East pub, where the vibe continues with a headlining reggae DJ set from 8pm.

Americana and Art - Friday 15 August
The second instalment shifts the mood with an Americana-themed day, blending folk, blues, and country influences with a family-friendly twist. Expect acoustic performances, sing-alongs, and storytelling sounds that invite all ages to tap their feet and get involved. This event will also explore the visual arts, with potential sculptural or creative installations to enhance the atmosphere and engage curious minds. Food trucks and refreshments will keep everyone fuelled from 12 noon to 7pm, making this a perfect cultural day out for families and music lovers alike.

Like the others, it will run from 12 noon to 7pm, with plenty of food, drink, and atmosphere to enjoy throughout the day.
