How support is reviewed
Children and young people with an EHCP must have a formal annual review meeting.
Meetings are held to check your child's progress and plan for the next term or year. If needed, changes can be made to the EHC Plan, like adjusting the level of support. The meeting covers support in education, health, and social care.
Children looked after by the local authority (under Section 32 of the Children and Families Act 2014), will also have a care plan that includes a Personal Education Plan (PEP).
If your child is classed as a child in need (under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989), a review is required every 6 months.
The reviews should also be timed to match the EHCP review when possible.
