Programme overview

On this course you will explore how to make jewellery and fine products using Sterling Silver, copper, brass and other materials. You will be able to make rings, pendants, brooches and earrings. Or, you could focus on Fine Products such as spoons and small bowls.

Vitreous enamel work can be an important part of the course and we will explore some elements of this wonderful art form using Vitreous enamel which is fired in a kiln.

The course will be extremely practical and hands-on. For most classes there will be a short demonstration at the beginning followed by plenty of "practical making" time for you to develop the technique to do your own design. The tutor will be there for support and to give you feedback each week.

The topics covered will be decided upon during discussions on the first day of term and some existing learners have asked to explore flush settings and hollow form already.

This course will be delivered by a fully qualified silversmithing tutor with several decades of professional experience within the industry.
