Is your child starting Reception in September? Feeling a bit nervous? 
 
Don't worry, it's completely normal! Starting school is a big step for both children and parents. Join our course to learn what to expect as your child begins full-time education in Reception. 
 
We'll share helpful tips and strategies to support your child's wellbeing during this important transition. Let's make this journey smoother and more enjoyable for both you and your little one! 

Course content

You will work with the class tutor to find out all about what the expectations in Reception are, and how you can support your child. You will get the chance to meet class teachers and other families before starting school in September, and learn about routines and facilities at your new school. Depending on the availability and space, your child will get to enjoy a play session in their future classroom, joining up with you again at the end for a shared activity before you leave at the end.  

Who this course is for

Parents of children about to start reception class at school. 

Materials and equipment

None required.

Assessment

Your tutor will assess your work and photograph the things you have made as evidence of your hard work. You will work on targets together to show your learning over the course.
