Gateshead Exchange sparks powerful partnership for Inclusion Training

Positive About Inclusion CIC

Positive About Inclusion CIC training session
Two Gateshead-based organisations have joined forces to champion equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the local community, thanks to a successful collaboration facilitated by Gateshead Exchange.

Positive About Inclusion CIC, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting public, private, and third-sector organisations with EDI training and consultancy, recently delivered a dynamic session to Skills 4 Work Gateshead Ltd, a charity focused on employment support.

The connection was made through Gateshead Exchange, a platform designed to bring Gateshead suppliers, schools, colleges, community groups and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs) together to provide social value to the communities of Gateshead. Skills 4 Work Gateshead had reached out via the platform seeking volunteer guest speakers for their on going sessions—and Positive About Inclusion was quick to respond.

Karen Faulkner, Director and Co-founder of Positive About Inclusion, led the training session, offering not only expert guidance on equality, diversity, and inclusion but also practical advice on engaging with commercial partners and enhancing online visibility.

"The session went really well and seemed to provide useful advice and food for thought to the attendees," said Karen. "Connecting via Gateshead Exchange was straightforward and a great way of extending our network and learning about the invaluable work being delivered by this local charity."

Tracey Wallace, Founder and Development Manager of Skills 4 Work, praised the session and it's impact:

"Equality, diversity and inclusion are the three main aims of our charity, so we'd like to thank Karen for this invaluable session. We highly recommend Positive About Inclusion for the top-quality training they offer to the local business community."

This collaboration is a shining example of how local partnerships can drive meaningful change and empower communities through shared knowledge and support.
