Find your new home with Gateshead Home Choice
The way in which you search and bid for your next home in Gateshead is changing.
Tyne and Wear Homes, which has been a central point for social housing applications and advertising in the region, will end on 6 December, with Gateshead, Newcastle, South Tyneside and North Tyneside Council's each having their own websites.
Gateshead Home Choice is our new service that will allow you to search for and bid on council houses and properties advertised by registered housing providers in Gateshead in much the same way as you could on the previous Tyne and Wear Homes site, but having an independent platform will give us more flexibility to adapt and develop our housing service to meet the needs of people who live or want to live in Gateshead, and will help us improve the way you apply for homes and make it easier for you to find a home that is right for you.
The new Gateshead Home Choice website will go live on 7 December, with new properties being advertised from Thursday 8 December.
If you are currently on Gateshead's housing register you will be able to access your account on Gateshead Home Choice using the same login details you have for Tyne and Wear Homes, with both your registration number and PIN remaining the same.
To ensure a smooth transition, no properties are being advertised in Gateshead, Newcastle, South Tyneside, or North Tyneside for one week from today, Thursday 1 December 2022.
