Kibblesworth
Gateshead Council's Public Art Team developed and commissioned a number of public artworks for Kibblesworth Village on behalf of Keelman Homes and with support from The Gateshead Housing Company.
The Public Art Team worked closely with rednile (an artist led organisation) to plan and deliver a community engagement and temporary public art programme which included talks, practical workshops, demonstrations, the development of a community website and sharing skills network and a display of three artists' temporary artworks.
Following this there was a competition for artists in the region and six were chosen to make public artworks for Kibblesworth. These include sculpture, seating and public realm artworks which all have the themes identified by the community as important and special to the village.
