Name our new environmental machinery!

NewGrassCutters25

Gateshead Council's newest fleet members are already hard at work keeping parks and public spaces looking their best. The seven new grass cutters and one tractor, which joined the team this week, will boost capacity and improve reliability as older vehicles are phased out.

Now, we're inviting young residents to help give these machines some personality. Children aged 4-12 are encouraged to come up with fun and creative names for the grass cutters, while those aged 4-8 can suggest a name for the new tractor.

Our crews always get a great reaction from young people, so we're excited to get them involved in this fun challenge. Whether you're inspired by nature, local heroes, or something totally original - we want to hear your ideas!

The competition is part of a wider investment in environmental services, including £6.8m in new waste vehicles and £7.7m over five years to improve pothole repairs.

Entries should be family-friendly and free from offensive language.
