Taylor Wimpey chosen to develop Clasper Village site

Housing developer Taylor Wimpey has been selected as Gateshead Council's preferred supplier to develop the former Clasper Village site in Teams, Gateshead, following a competitive procurement procedure.
Taylor Wimpey is proposing to deliver a scheme of around 260 new homes which will include 39 affordable properties to be acquired by the council.
The affordable homes will be a mixture of Affordable Rent and shared ownership tenures.
The Council's Cabinet has approved Taylor Wimpey's appointment, and this allows the housebuilder to progress to a planning application.
Following contracts being exchanged the Council and Taylor Wimpey will announce more about the development over the coming months.
