Turning commitments into impact: Cumbria Waste's woodland clean-up for Gateshead school

Cumbria Waste

Cumbria Waste Volunteer to Litter pick
As part of their social value commitments to Gateshead Council, outlined in their contract for the STWWMP Material Recovery Facility, Cumbria Waste volunteered two dedicated members of staff to support South Street Primary School. Their mission? To help maintain and enhance the school's woodland area by carrying out a litter-picking activity.

This isn't the first time Cumbria Waste has stepped up for South Street Primary School. Previously, they volunteered their time to paint fences and outdoor equipment, helping to create a brighter and more welcoming environment for pupils to enjoy.

These efforts not only improve the natural and physical environment for children but also reinforce the importance of sustainability and community engagement. By taking action, Cumbria Waste has shown how businesses can create positive ripple effects - supporting education, and strengthening local ties.

Why does this matter? Social value isn't just a contractual obligation; it's about creating meaningful impact. Cumbria Waste's initiatives exemplify how organisations can turn commitments into tangible outcomes that benefit everyone.
