From Soap to Support: Bloom's Catalyst Fund Helps Gateshead Residents

Bloom Logo

From 2024, Bloom Services proudly operate the Bloom Catalyst Fund, a dynamic new initiative aligned with it's NEPRO³ social value commitments. Designed to support grassroots organisations and strengthen community connections, the fund offers small grants of up to £500.00 per project to groups operating within the 12 NEPO member authority areas.

The Catalyst Fund is a testament to Bloom's commitment to social value, enabling local organisations to bring their ideas to life and make a tangible impact in their communities.

One of the beneficiaries of the scheme is The Felling Food Network, which received £500.00 to purchase essential hygiene products including soap, shampoo and cleaning supplies. This grant improved the ability for the organisation to run a targeted hygiene donation drive, addressing a critical gap in resources and ensuing that a broader range of essential items were available to Gateshead's most vulnerable residents in crisis.

Councillor Sonya Dickie, Founder and Chair of The Felling Food Network shared:

"As Founder and Chair of The Felling Food Network I would just like to say thank you as it is extremely hard running a foodbank with food donations never really picking up since Covid, and hygiene products rarely donated. The Felling Food Network is absolutely delighted to have received the grant as this has enabled the charity to purchase various hygiene products to help the most vulnerable attending the foodbank"

Through initiatives like the Bloom Catalyst Fund, Bloom Services continues to champion community-led solutions and foster meaningful change across the North East.
