Plumbing merchants Crossling have demonstrated their ongoing commitment to community wellbeing by donating £1,000 to the Mayor of Gateshead's Charity Event, held on 6 April 2023. This generous contribution forms part of Crossling's broader social value commitments in partnership with Gateshead Council, aimed at supporting local causes and making a meaningful difference in the community.

The Mayor's Charity Event successfully raised a total of £3,500, which was distributed among four carefully selected charities, each playing a vital role in supporting individuals and families across the region and beyond:

  • The Firefighters Charity - Established during the Second World War to support the families of firefighters who lost their lives during the Blitz, the charity continues to honour their legacy by providing lifelong support to the fire services community.
  • Mental Health Concern - A North East-based organisation delivering specialist mental health services on behalf of the NHS and local authorities. Their mission is to improve mental health and wellbeing across the region.
  • Readley - Dedicated to raising awareness and offering support to individuals and families affected by asbestos-related diseases, including mesothelioma.
  • Communication Workers Union Humanitarian Aid (CWUHA) - A charitable organisation responding to the needs of vulnerable children, operating in Eastern Europe, the UK, Republic of Ireland, and Africa.

Crossling's donation reflects their strong belief in corporate social responsibility and their proactive approach to giving back to the communities they serve. By aligning with Gateshead Council's social value framework, Crossling continues to support initiatives that promote health, safety, and wellbeing for all."
