Positive About Inclusion supports Pelaw Community Bowling Club in strengthening EDI commitment

In a heartwarming example of community collaboration, Pelaw Community Bowling Club has taken a significant step forward in its commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), thanks to the support of Positive About Inclusion.
The partnership began at the Gateshead Exchange Launch Event in March 2024, where representatives from both organizations connected over shared values. Inspired by Positive About Inclusion's offer of support, Pelaw Community Bowling Club reached out for assistance in reviewing their existing EDI policy.
Following a thorough review, Positive About Inclusion provided a series of thoughtful recommendations aimed at enhancing the club's inclusivity practices. These suggestions were warmly received and have since been formally adopted into the club's updated policy.
Karen Faulkner, Director of Positive About Inclusion, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration:
"We were delighted to support Pelaw Community Bowling Club with the review of this policy. The club does a huge amount to create an inclusive welcome to everyone who engages with them. Their policy just needed a few little amends and updates. And it was so lovely to be asked to go along to one of the bowling taster sessions as a thank you!"
This partnership highlights the power of local connections and shared goals in fostering inclusive environments. With their refreshed policy in place, Pelaw Community Bowling Club continues to lead by example, ensuring that everyone—regardless of background or ability—feels welcome on and off the green.
