From Mud to Match - Ready: Tarmac Trading boosts local football facilities

Tarmac Trading has once again demonstrated its commitment to delivering their social value commitments to Gateshead. Tarmac Trading has made a meaningful contribution to the Gateshead community by supporting Wrekenton Blue Star Football Club in improving access to their pitch at Black Lane, Eighton Banks.

The area between the football pitch and the changing rooms has long been a problem, frequently becoming muddy and difficult to navigate - especially during wet weather. In response, Tarmac Trading stepped in to tarmac the pathway, creating a clean, durable, and safe route for players and visitors alike.

This improvement not only enhances the matchday experience but also supports the club's efforts to provide a welcoming and accessible environment for local football. The project reflects Tarmac Trading's ongoing commitment to delivering social value through practical, community - focused initiatives.

Councillor Judith Turner Commented:

"I'd like to say how grateful I am to Tarmac Trading for supporting Wrekenton Blue Star Football Club with this project and to the Gateshead Exchange for facilitating this match. It's a fantastic example of partnership working to benefit our local community"

By investing in grassroots sports infrastructure, Tarmac Trading continues to demonstrate how businesses can make a lasting impact in the communities they serve.
