A Blooming Christmas: Grant helps Embells CIC host festive lunch for Over-60s

In 2024, Bloom Services proudly launched the Bloom Catalyst Fund as part of its  NEPRO³ social value commitments, aiming to empower grassroots initiatives and strengthen community across the North East. This small grant scheme offers funding of up to £500.00 per project to organisations operating within the 12 NEPO member authority areas, helping to bring local ideas to life and make a tangible difference.

Once of the early beneficiaries of the scheme was Embells CIC, which received a £500.00 grant to support its community Christmas Lunch. The event welcomed over 60 older residents for a festive celebration featuring a free three-course meal, refreshments, and seasonal activities. The lunch not only provided nourishment and entertainment but also fostered connection and joy during the holiday season.

The success of the event was made possible thanks to the dedication of volunteers from Cumbria Waste, connected Voice, Leam Lane Family Hib, and Age UK Gateshead, who gave their time to serve the meals that Bloom Services helped to fund.

The Bloom Catalyst Fund continues to be a beacon of support for community-led projects, reinforcing Bloom Services' commitment to social value and regional collaboration.
