Gateshead Safeguarding Children Partnership launches new website to strengthen safeguarding support across the borough
A brand-new website dedicated to safeguarding children in Gateshead has officially launched, providing professionals, families, and young people with a central hub of trusted information, guidance, and resources.
The Gateshead Safeguarding Children Partnership (GSCP) developed the site to make it easier for anyone working with or caring for children to find up-to-date safeguarding policies, training opportunities, and practical tools.
The new website, gatesheadsafeguardingchildren.org.uk is designed to complement the existing Gateshead Safeguarding Adults Board (GSAB) site, which will continue to host adult safeguarding information at www.gatesheadsafeguarding.org.uk.
The launch coincides with Safeguarding Adults Week (w/c 17 November), a timely opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding across all ages.
Councillor Catherine Donovan, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People for Gateshead Council, said:
"Keeping children safe is one of our most important responsibilities as a community. This new website is a major step forward in making safeguarding information clear, accessible, and easy to find for everyone who works with or cares for children in Gateshead. It reflects our commitment to working together to give every child the best possible start in life."
Helen Fergusson, Director of Children's Services at Gateshead Council said:
"Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. This new site makes it easier than ever for professionals, families, and the wider community to access reliable, up-to-date information to help keep Gateshead's children safe."
Gateshead Safeguarding Children Partnership want this to be a living, evolving space that reflects the needs of everyone working to protect children in Gateshead and is encouraging feedback from all users to help shape and grow the platform.
