Funding available for community food projects

Expressions of Interest are now open for grant funding for community food projects in Gateshead.

We expect to award grants of between £500 and £5,000, although larger amounts may be considered.

Do you have an idea that could make a lasting change in Gateshead to increase access to nutritious, affordable food? We are looking to fund ambitious, innovative and effective projects that will help shape Gateshead food systems and practices in the long term.

Gateshead Food Partnership, newly established this year, is working to bring together a collaboration of over 50 public, voluntary and private sector organisations across Gateshead, working to become part of the UK-wide Sustainable Food Places network, to co-create and deliver a Sustainable Food Strategy for Gateshead.

Hosted by Gateshead Council, but steered by a group of representatives from a number of organisations, we want to ensure everyone has access to nutritious and affordable food, reduce diet-related health inequalities, build a vibrant local food economy, and support projects that improve wellbeing and our environment through food growing.

To apply for a grant, fill in the form on this link. We look forward to hearing from you!
