Gateshead Council have launched a brand-new youth directory website, Explore More. Do More. Gateshead. The directory offers young people across the Borough easy access to information, services, and opportunities tailored just for them.

Available at www.gateshead.gov.uk/youth-directory, the new website is the go to place to find things to do and places to go, helping young people beat boredom and find out how they can get involved in activities across their community. The aim is to help young people aged 11-25 navigate life's challenges, explore their interests, and get involved in their community.

The development of the directory has been co-designed with local young people, ensuring it meets their needs and reflects their experiences. Ellie and Lucy who helped create this resource really enjoyed getting involved, and Ellie said: "This is a great example of what's possible when young people and professionals work together." Lucy added: "We want to know where to go to find safe spaces and things to do - this website is great!"

Councillor Catherine Donovan, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People at Gateshead Council, said: "The new Youth Directory is about empowering young people. Whether they're looking for new places to go or simply want to find out what's happening in their area, this is a site that puts their needs first. We're proud to provide a resource that's built with, and for, the youth of Gateshead."

Kate Dexter, Interim Deputy Strategic Director, Children's Social Care at Gateshead Council said: "Supporting young people is a top priority for us. With 'Explore More. Do More. Gateshead,' we're making vital information more accessible than ever before. It's a modern, user-friendly directory that reflects our commitment to inclusion, opportunity, and wellbeing for all our young residents."

Gateshead council will continue to work with young people and partner organisations to keep the site updated and relevant, ensuring it grows alongside the communities it serves.
