Spear Gateshead - Requesting support from volunteers with Career Coaching

Spear Gateshead are a Youth Employment programme for 16 to 24 year olds who face a barrier to employment. Spear Gateshead are asking for support from businesses to see if they can help provide volunteers to support with the following;

• 1-1 Coaching - this happens on a Wednesday. Volunteers would be paired with a young person to meet each week either online or in person for an hour to help coach.
• career panel - this takes place on a Thursday in week 2 of the programme from 3 to 4pm. This is an opportunity for trainees to ask career panelists a range of questions to grow their confidence and discover more about the job market and professional experience.
• mock interviews - this takes place on a Thursday in week 3 of the programme from 1 to 3pm. Volunteers receive a briefing from Spear coaches about their trainee with their CV, background information and job description with some time to prepare. Interviews then interview trainees for 10 minutes, provide 5 minutes of feedback before interviewing their trainee again.
