Springwell Community Centre - Requesting donations and volunteers to help create a sensory community garden


Springwell Community Centre are developing a sensory garden - a peaceful, inclusive space designed to engage and soothe the senses. This self-contained garden will feature themed zones, each offering a unique sensory experience:
- Touch Zone: Raised beds and ground-level areas with soft-leaved plants such as Lamb's Ear, moss, and textured bark
- Smell Zone: A sheltered area filled with aromatic herbs and flowering shrubs
- Sight Zone: Layered planting with tall visual anchors and vibrant seasonal blooms
- Taste Zone: Edible beds with herbs, strawberries, and chives, all clearly labeled for safe tasting
- Sound Zone: Wind chimes, bamboo, ornamental grasses, and bird-friendly features near a quiet seating area
Donations
- Herbs, seeds, and sensory-friendly plants
- Compost, topsoil, and mulch
- Cement, gravel, or paving stones for accessible paths
- Materials for raised garden beds
