North East Diversity, Education and Solidarity (NEDES) - Requesting a room in a building to operate The Saturday School from and a volunteer English Teacher
NEDES operates The Saturday School supporting refugee children and young people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Currently, the programme serves 86 students aged 7 to 17, with the support of 19 dedicated volunteer teachers. However, due to limited capacity, they are unable to accommodate an additional 20 students who remain on a waiting list. NEDES are seeking support in the following areas:
Space requirements
- Saturday sessions: a suitable space is needed every Saturday from 10am to 5pm to host their educational activities
- weekday clubs and meetings: they are also looking for access to a room or building during the week to run new clubs (including music, homework support and robotics) and to hold meetings with their volunteers
Volunteers
NEDES are in need of an English teacher or tutor to help students prepare for their GCSEs.
