Public Relations and Communications Assistant Level 4

Requirements 

  • Level 2 Maths and English, GCSEs C/4 or above, or as required by employer

  • a minimum of 30 hours working week, working with a suitably qualified/experienced mentor in your organisation

  • 14 months on programme and 5-month window for End Point Assessment

  • support from a suitably qualified/experienced employment mentor who has capacity to hold monthly 1:1 review

  • 'Off the job' training must be provided, a minimum of 6 hours a week. A plan of OTJ training will be developed by the mentor in collaboration with the tutor during the induction period

What you'll do at work

  • Develop written and non-written content and schedule content for publication/distribution, according to the public relations and communication campaign plan
  • Contribute to creation of campaigns or new business proposals planning and their implementation
  • Research, analyse and monitor stakeholders to inform engagement strategies
  • Monitor media to keep up to date with current affairs and build knowledge of the journalist and media landscape
  • Research, analyse and evaluate campaigns against key performance indicators (KPIs) to prepare future campaigns
  • Share content with relevant stakeholders and media to inform and influence audiences to maintain positive relationships
  • Undertake reputation assessment and formulate response to support stakeholders with the planning and implementation of reputation management and/or crisis
  • Support the public relations team and communications team with routine admin, logistical and time sensitive tasks
  • Support the planning and ad hoc engagement activities such as events
  • Organise and coordinate stakeholder meetings

End point assessment 

End Point Assessment will take place in the final 5 months, dependant on learner progress. End Point Assessment will consist of:

  • Written project report with presentation and questioning
  • Professional discussion underpinned by portfolio of evidence
