Missing or damaged drain covers

We aim to inspect all reports as soon as possible within two working days due to the health and safety risks involved.
Our team will make the area safe which can include temporary measures before we are able to replace the missing or damaged cover. It can take up to four weeks for problems to be fixed completely.
Sometimes, we are not responsible for the drain or manhole. For example, public drains or sewers are the responsibility of Northumbrian Water. In these cases, we will always make areas safe first and then we will contact the organisation responsible so they can replace the cover.
