Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC)

Many children worldwide have been separated from their parents or primary caregivers and seek asylum in the UK. UASC are taken into local authority care. If no suitable family member or guardian is found in the UK, a foster family is sought. Their asylum claim continues while they are in a place of safety.
