Employer perspective - IKEA

IKEA is a global brand and we're delighted to have one of their bases in Gateshead. For several years, the retailer has employed several of our clients. They've been a hugely supportive employer, championing our clients and making reasonable adjustments wherever needed. 

One of those who's found a career where she can thrive at IKEA is Helen, who began working at the retailer in 2020. 

Speaking about the value Helen has brought to IKEA, the team shared: "Helen is one of our senior co-workers here in IKEA Gateshead, working in our home decoration department for 5 years. She's a valued member of the team, always ensuring the area looks great for our customers and building great relationships with the team." 

Helen added: "I love working at IKEA and I'm so grateful that Gateshead Access to Employment Service have supported me to get this job. Since starting, I'm proud to have achieved my 5 years in service award and also made lots of friends here. I hope to keep working at IKEA for a long time."
