Gateshead Quays Development Framework SPD

The Gateshead Quays area has seen major improvements over the years with the addition of the iconic Sage Gateshead and Gateshead Millennium Bridge. The restoration of a former flour mill into the region's much-loved BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and more recently the award winning By the River Brew Co. 

This development framework sets out a comprehensive and coordinated approach to the development of the rest of Gateshead Quays and infrastructure provision in accordance with the Local Plan. This document provides guidance and strategic principles to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to site development and infrastructure provision in compliance with the Core Strategy and Urban Core Plan.
