Visit the Gateshead Millennium Bridge

It could not be easier to visit Gateshead Quays and see Gateshead Millennium Bridge for yourself. Gateshead Quays  is also home to BALTIC, the largest centre for contemporary art outside of London and The Glasshouse International Centre for Music - a £70m Norman Foster designed music centre.

By car

By bus

Jump on the yellow Quaylink bus. This bus links Gateshead and Newcastle waterfronts and runs up to every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening.

By rail

The nearest rail station is Newcastle Central Station. If you arrive into Newcastle Central Station you can:

  • Take the Metro one stop to Gateshead (then take either a ten minute walk to Gateshead Millennium Bridge or catch the Quaylink bus).
  • Walk down to Gateshead Millennium Bridge (15 minutes).
  • Take a taxi (Four minutes).

By air

Gateshead Quays is a 20-minute drive from Newcastle International Airport. A direct Metro link is available from the airport to Gateshead; then follow pedestrian signs for Gateshead Quays.
