Key principles
- All reports of ASB and hate are taken seriously
- You will have a named officer and receive updates every 10 working days
- We use early intervention wherever possible
- We take proportionate action based on severity
- We consider safeguarding and vulnerability from the start
Objectives
- Respond promptly in line with agreed response times
- Prevent issues from escalating
- Provide clear communication and agreed actions with victims
- Work effectively with partners to resolve issues
Measuring success
- Reduction in ASB and hate incidents
- Tenants satisfied with how cases are handled
- Cases responded to within 1 or 3 working days
- Issues resolved and cases closed appropriately
What you can expect from us
- A named officer will contact you and respond within the correct timescale
- We will discuss your concerns and agree how the case will be investigated
- We will work with agencies such as the police or social care where needed
- We may offer mediation if it could help resolve the issue
- We will assess any risks or support needs and make referrals where appropriate
- We will explain what evidence we need and how to provide it
- We will keep you updated at least every 10 working days
- We will take proportionate action and escalate only if informal steps fail
- When the case is closed, we will confirm the outcome in writing
What we expect from you
- Co-operate with the investigation and help us gather evidence
- Report relevant incidents to other agencies when appropriate
- Let us know if you need extra support
- Share your feedback when the case is closed
What you should know
ASB includes persistent noise, threats, abuse, criminal behaviour and hate incidents
Everyday living noise, children playing or one‑off events are not ASB
Hate crime is any incident motivated by hostility or prejudice
You can report ASB online, by phone, email or in person
We may use actions such as warnings, mediation, agreements, injunctions or possession when needed
