Active Travel Gateshead Privacy Notice
Who we are and what we do
The Community Health and Wellbeing Team is part of Gateshead Council and is managing and administering the Active Travel through Social Prescribing fund. We are based at the Civic Centre, Gateshead. The grant will:
- Support existing VCSE groups to identify need in the local community to co-design and develop walking and cycling opportunities within local communities to increase activity levels and promote active travel journeys.

- Assess the eligibility of the organisation to apply for the grant and if successful receive the grant and deliver its aims.

- Contract - Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract which the individual is party or in order to take steps at the request of the individual prior to entering into a contract.
Who your information can be shared with
Our corporate privacy notice explains information sharing the Council carries out. This sharing fulfils statutory obligations, legal requirements and service delivery. The Community Physical Activity team will share your information with:
- Gateshead Council's finance team and community health and wellbeing team.
This will enable your application to be assessed within the wider team and successful organisations will be able to receive the grant.
If we wish to share your information with other council services or third parties for purposes outside of those listed above, we will ask your permission.
How long we will keep your information
We keep your information for as long as we need to provide services to you. We may also need to keep your information in accordance with legal or other obligations. Where we have no need to keep your data it will be securely destroyed. We keep a record of processing activity (a requirement under the GDPR).
