8. Performance reporting
8.1 An annual report on arrears prevention and recovery activity is provided to the Housing Portfolio each year.
8.2 Rent collection is a vital element of measuring the financial viability of the Housing Revenue Account Business Plan. The following key performance indicator is measured monthly and formally reported to Strategic Housing Board on a quarterly basis:
- rent collected from tenants as a percentage of rent falling due to date in the financial year (excluding arrears brought forward)
8.3 In addition to the key performance indicator, we also collect the following management information which helps staff monitor rent arrears performance:
- current rent arrears as % of rent roll
- former tenant rent arrears as % of rent roll
- former tenant write offs as % of rent roll
- satisfaction with advice and support received
- average rent arrears (can be broken down in several ways, by customer profile)
- number of tenants receiving Universal Credit
- number of tenants receiving Universal Credit and their average rent arrears
- number of tenants receiving Universal Credit with an alternative payment arrangement
