2. Scope

2.1 The policy applies to all of the following account types and sets out a hierarchy of recovery if more than one is in arrears. The procedures that are followed are included in the appendices:

• current tenant rent accounts (including service charges) for:
  • introductory tenancies
  • secure tenancies
• former tenant rent accounts
• garage rent accounts
• rechargeable repair accounts
• court cost accounts

2.2 The policy also sets out the council's approach to the write-off or set aside of rent arrears.
